Shark Diving In Bahamas

logo

Among the many scuba diving attractions in Little Bahama Bank of the Caribbean Sea, scuba diving with sharks is one of the favorite underwater activities for scuba divers there.

Bahamas’ Bull Pit Shark Dive

This is a classic shark diving destination and having been scuba dived so frequently for many years. It is because of this factor that the sharks there can now associate the sound of boat engines with food. Hey, it is always lunch time whenever boats are approaching.

These awesome sea predators will move very quickly into the area once they sense that the dive boats are coming. Since this strange and unnatural shark behavior that is being cultivated by human activities is not a natural characteristic of sharks hunting for food has been criticized by marine conservationists.

The Bull Pit is made up of a series of low lying reefs and canyons that create a maze of interesting channels and gullies for scuba divers to explore. One favorite method of shark watching by scuba divers is to wait in one of these gullies and wait for the sharks to come near. The sharks of course are aware that the scuba divers are around and will sometimes swim up close to inspect the intruders and to check for food handouts.

Although The Bull Pit dive site is considered a safe diving location, inexperienced divers may be frightened to find themselves in such close proximity with these fierce meat eating predators. All novice and inexperienced scuba divers should therefore dive under the close supervision of experienced divers so that they would not panic and do things that may attract the sharks to think of them as food.

Bahamas Shark Rodeo

This famous shark rodeo in Little Bahama Bank is a flat patch of sand the size of a football field at Walker’s Cay. Dive boats will usually circle the site first, gunning the boat’s engines to attract the sharks.

Upon entering the water, scuba divers will settle on the sandy seabed in sight of a ‘chumsicle’ which is a large frozen mass of fish contained in a porous cylinder. The good thing about this shark feeding system is that it avoids pieces of fish remains floating near watching scuba divers so as to prevent shark attacking scuba divers by accident.

The feeding sharks, often more than a hundred of them from several shark species will suddenly zoom in to the chumsicle in a feeding frenzy. This is when the show begins. Divers are warned to keep very still when some of the sharks may glide over to check out who is eyeing their meals or worse, eating the scuba divers as their meal.

So if you plan for a scuba diving trip to the Bahamas, do dive with the sharks.

How to wind up a company

logo

A company winding up is the mechanism by which an insolvent business legally ceases to trade with the help and assistance of an insolvency practitioner. As a company director you need to be constantly aware of the financial position of your business, and take steps, if you conclude that the company is insolvent, not to increase the debt levels. If you conclude after a review that the company can be turned around, then you are allowed to trade it, but such decisions need to be minuted at meetings and evidence of the steps taken documented. A failure to do this can later result in an action against a director for wrongful trading.

If the company has an underlying good business, but will not trade through its problems then the business should be closed, but it could continue in another guise, with a pre-pack sale to a phoenix company.

The liquidation is begun by directors reporting to the shareholders, that the company should cease to trade. They will then generally approach an insolvency practitioner to help prepare a statement of affairs and call a meeting of creditors, who will ultimately vote to liquidate the company.

If you are unsure of the procedure take advice from some one such as an insolvency practitioner who will be ideally placed to help you take the first steps, which will include preparing the necessary paperwork, and also getting the finance in place for a pre-pack if so required.

It is generally thought advisable for directors to take the bull by the horns and begin the winding up process themselves as it is a clear sign of corporate responsibility.

The winding up process is not difficult but I understand that it can be emotional. It is common place to have feelings of guilt about closing down a business. If you have dealt with suppliers for many years you will feel bad about not paying them. I suspect that for too long many of you have even paid suppliers out of your own pockets. That is not the point of a limited company enterprise, It exists to protect personal liability. If you continue to trade whilst insolvent, you risk wrongful trading as I outlined above. It is better for all to take steps to close down the insolvent business and if appropriate pre-pack the sale of the going concern to a clean company, that way jobs are saved, no further losses are incurred and your suppliers can trade afresh with a solvent entity. Remember you do not have to face this alone, but by delaying making the call, could make matters worse for your creditors, and ultimately that may reflect upon you.

Horses For Sale Are Obtainable At Any Price Level

logo

The number of horses for sale has grown in size, largely due to economic slow down. Owners simply cannot afford to keep these expensive animals. Many horses end up in shelters simply because their owners can no longer afford to keep them. Even high-priced and well-trained show horses are selling for a small amount of what they used to sell for.

Horses in every breed, and trained for any riding style, can easily be found. Price levels vary widely as well. Individuals must still be very cautious when purchasing this type of animal. It is an investment of sorts. Numerous issues should be considered during the decision process. In addition, many different sales sources are available to assist the buyer in finding the right horse.

The first step is to make a decision on how the horse will be used. Decide what type of riding will be focused on, whether it is recreational riding, hunters, showjumping, endurance riding, dressage or three-day eventing. This helps to narrow down the search, enabling a buyer to successfully and efficiently find the right horse.

There is a huge variety of resources available to buyers for locating a suitable horse. A large amount of websites specialize in listing sale horses for any riding discipline, all breeds and locations. Sellers can upload photos on the site. The buyer can usually sort sales lists by price, breed, or geographic location. Most show sale horses all over the world.

Other more conventional methods include contacting breeders or trainers, or talking to breed associations. There is an association for almost every breed in existence. Individual sellers still advertise in conventional classified advertisements, especially if these ads are in horse magazines. Auctions are places where animals can be purchased quickly and at a low price. One should be an experienced horse person to ensure that the right animal is successfully chosen.

Regardless of the method of locating a prospect, it is very important to ride or at least visit the horse multiple times. This provides a better understanding of the horse\’s temperament and level of training. Get a second opinion. Bring a trusted friend, colleague or trainer to see the horse. If possible, have this individual ride the horse as well. Trainers usually charge a small commission if a horse is purchased. The cost is well worth it to ensure that a suitable mount is identified.

Veterinary examinations are usually recommended. However the effectiveness of such an examination is somewhat controversial. Nevertheless, a complete stress test should be conducted. This helps to identify lameness issues. Some people believe that x-rays should be included in the exam, to thoroughly screen for any lameness issues. On the other hand, x-rays in older horses will usually show some sort of bone abnormality that may or may not cause lameness in the future.

A pre-purchase veterinary exam is recommended. This should include a complete stress test to rule out lameness. Some people like to have x-rays taken, but the efficacy of performing such a procedure is somewhat questionable. Certain individuals feel that x-rays are necessary to determine if there are any developing leg abnormalities. Others feel x-rays may falsely reveal issues that really are not problems.
